Levels

JUNIOR/INTERMEDIATE 

10-14 years old with 3+ years of experience.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED 

15 and older with 5+ years of experience. These are only recommendations.  You can determine the level that is appropriate for you. If you are a director, you can decide what level to place your students. Want to move one of your students to another level?  No problem.  After the second class on Saturday you will have the opportunity to move students.  However, no moves can be made after that point. Students moving to another level must come to registration table and exchange wristband during lunch break. Once the third class starts, students must stay in that level throughout the rest of the convention.

DEADLINE 

All entries must be received by 15 days prior to event. On site registrations will be accepted at late rate:  Junior/Intermediate: $180.  Intermediate/Advanced $200. Teacher $210.  Cash and credit card accepted at registration table.

GROUP DISCOUNTS

If you have more than 10 people in your group, then take advantage of our group discount.  For every 10 students you register, you’ll receive one FREE registration. STREETBEAT SHOWDOWN

Don't want to share the spotlight? We get that - which is why you can go solo! Bring you’re "A Game" during the StreetBeat Showdown. This freestyle performance opportunity is open to any registered student. Must sign up under the same level you participated in the workshops.

Time Limit: You'll have the floor for 30 seconds. Make them count!

Entry: Only one entry per student

Fee: There is a $15 fee per entry

Style: Please keep routines to hip hop/street/ funk style dance

Dancers: Only students are eligible

PHOTOS and VIDEO:

StreetBeat Masters abides by copyright laws to protect the work of our esteemed choreographers. NO flash photography or videotaping is allowed. This includes digital cameras with video capabilities. Due to these copyright laws, violation of any of these rules stated above will result in immediate removal from the convention as well as being disqualified from being able to receive scholarships, prizes, trophies, etc.

CONDUCT

To maintain the integrity of this event, please keep the lyrics clean, the gestures clean and bodies covered to prevent wardrobe malfunctions Mahalo! (thank you)

Dancers and audience need to be cool and respectful of fellow dancers and MDs during classes. No horsing around or loud or excessive talking during performances or classes. (Parents, too) Participants give StreetBeat Masters permission to use their photographs and/or video for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with activities associated with this event.

**Anyone who registers for a dance event takes certain incumbent risks. These include, but are not limited to the usual sprains, pulled muscles, and broken bones. StreetBeat Masters and the hosting facility assume no responsibility for personal injury or property lost at its events.**

WRISTBANDS

Wristbands must be worn at all times during the two day convention. Anyone without a wristband will not be allowed to enter convention. Please be responsible for the care of your wristband. If it is lost or damaged, you will have to
purchase a new one at the cost of $80. Wristbands cannot be exchanged with other dancers.

OTHER KINE STUFF

All dates and locations are subject to change. Smoking is prohibited in all convention rooms. Food and drink is prohibited in the convention area. StreetBeat Masters reserves the right to add, move, extend or cancel dates of convention based on the number of entries received. Should we need to cancel an event, all fees will be refunded in full. StreetBeat Masters reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone for any reason. Faculty and location is subject to change.

SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE

It’s party time!  Don’t miss your opportunity to show us whatcha got!  Grab your friends and showcase your talents before some of the hottest MasterDancers in the business.  This is a great way to make an impression. Winners will be determined by the MDs and will be eligible for trophies and cash prizes.

Time Limit: Maximum time per entry is 3 minutes

Group Size: Minimum of 5 dancers per entry 

Entries: Maximum of 5 showcase entries per studio/group

Payment: You may pay by individual/studio check or money order in US dollars. Visa and Mastercard are also accepted.  Entries cannot be confirmed until payment is received. All returned checks will be assessed a $35 fee.

Fee: $10 fee per dancer per entry

Style: Please keep routines to hip hop , street or B-Boy style dance

**Dancers Students have to showcase for one studio. Only students are eligible to perform. **

No entries will be accepted by phone or email. Entry fees are non-refundable

Music for Performances:  CDs must be turned in at Registration by 10am Saturday. Only the song for that entry may be on the CD. No other music should precede or follow it. CD should be clearly marked with name of music and studio/individual.  It’s also a good idea to burn an extra copy as a back up.

NOTE:  It is highly recommended an additional copy of your CD in the event of a malfunction of the originally submitted music. PLEASE DO NOT USE RE-WRITABLE CDs as they do not work in all CD players.

No charge for registered dancers.  $10 fee for all spectators.  Proceeds from these evening performances will be donated to the ACA. (See Givin’ Back)  Invite friends and family for this fun event while supporting a great cause.
